When Holly & Hugo planned their big day, they had their heart set on vineyard wedding and Hencote in Shrewsbury, Shropshire was the perfect location for them to make it a reality! I had the pleasure of capturing this stunning wedding, where every detail came together for an unforgettable day.
Morning Preparations in The Grange at Hencote Estate
The day began at The Grange at Hencote, where both the Bride and Groom got ready. The Grange is part of Hencote’s gorgeous site, providing a luxurious and peaceful space for those pre-wedding moments. The beautiful interiors of The Grange added a touch of elegance to the “getting ready” shots, setting the tone for what was to be an absolutely stunning day.
Holly opted to have a first look with her father, which we organised in the gardens, followed by some family photos before she headed off to see the registrars while Hugo warmly welcomed their guests on the terrace.The atmosphere was filled with laughter and chatter, creating a lively backdrop for the occasion. This delightful setting provided my second photographer, Pete, with the perfect opportunity to capture some candid moments.
A Picture-Perfect Outdoor Summer Vineyard wedding in Shrewsbury
Holly & Hugo's outdoor ceremony took place in the gazebo, right in front of Hencote’s lush vineyards, fulfilling their dream of a vineyard wedding. With Shropshire as a backdrop, the setting couldn’t have been more picturesque. The gazebo was decorated with beautiful pale blue and cream flowers by Calisto Florist which created the perfect setting for the couple to exchange their vows.
A Dreamy Summer Wedding in Shropshire
Following the ceremony, Holly, Hugo, and I stepped away from the guests to capture their couples photos. We headed into the private gardens at Hencote which provides a number of perfect locations for the backdrop of your coouplesphotosranging from vine-draped paths to vibrant garden corners, offering an ideal blend of romantic and laid-back atmospheres.
We then returned to the venue where Holly and Hugo rejoined their guests. We took those essential group photos, some candids and then I went inside to capture the details of the reception room, some of which had been created by Holly and Hugo themselves.
Laughter, Speeches & Natural Reactions
The reception was filled with emotional speeches and lots of laughter shared between family and friends. One of my favorite parts of any wedding is photographing those candid, unplanned reactions, and this celebration had so many! Hencote’s relaxed atmosphere really encouraged guests to be themselves, making for beautiful, real photos that the couple will treasure.
The Perfect setting for Epic Sunset Photos
As the sun began to set, we headed back out for some more couples photos, and we were lucky enough to catch a spectacular Shropshire sunset. The vineyard took on a golden glow, and the warm evening light created the dreamiest backdrop for these final photos. Hencote’s sweeping views and open skies made the moment feel almost magical, giving the couple a perfect ending to their special day.
